Burning sensation in my throat

Last month I met a friend of a friend at a yard sale who offered me a ride in a 6 seater (a cherokee red...man) to burning man. Yes, in the air, directly to the playa. I made an impulsive decision to go for a 7th time. I usually like to go for the whole week to have the whole immersive experience but the plane flight left on friday morning so it was a take it or leave it thing.

Anyway, long story short, I got strep throat the monday before going. The extra few days gave me the opportunity toget to the doctor and get some antibiotics. Had i gone on my normal schedule I would have been F-U-C-K-E-D. Actually, add some more capital FFFF's.

I had never flown in a small plane before. It's like riding in a kite.

I almost decided not to go Thursday night, but Friday morning I changed my mind, which was good overall as I had a pretty good time but the strep and the threat of it getting a lot worse seriously impacted my ability to enjoy it fully. I got to see a lot of great art and hang out with some of my friends up there but strangely I realized that even after several years of going I still had a lot to learn about how to maximize my enjoyment out there...
